Programs | Education & Youth Development

Education is one of the pillars of our organization, something we believe is paramount to an equitable and intercultural community. At Plaza, we engage learners of all ages through an array of educational offerings. Building knowledge, skills, and community are elements of all of our education programs. We offer both youth and family programs, as well as adult education.

Adult Education

Plaza offers a variety of educational classes for adult Latinx and immigrant community members. These classes offer opportunities to learn important skills while building community with other immigrants who share common experiences. Students who participate in our classes feel more confident and capable of engaging in the community, and many of the skills they develop increase their economic prospects by helping them get better paying jobs.

Adult Education Classes Offered:

  • English as a Second Language (ESL) - Readiness/Beginner and Intermediate/Advanced levels

  • Computer Skills (taught in Spanish)

  • US Citizenship Exam Preparation (taught in English)

  • Oregon Driver License Written Exam Preparation (taught in mixed Spanish/English)
