Our Social Services Program provides Latinx and immigrant community members with support accessing essential resources and programs. Our case managers center the needs of our clients. We care deeply about providing compassionate care as we help community members shift from a place of surviving to a place of growth and thriving.
We assist community members in applying for the following resources:
Health insurance - including Oregon Health Plan/Medicaid and the Oregon Health Insurance Marketplace
Food resources - such as emergency food boxes or enrollment in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
Emergency rent and utility assistance
Our case managers also make internal referrals connecting clients to a wide range of programs and services within our organization:
Medical clinics - Vaccine, medical, and dental clinics
Fully bilingual therapists
Fully bilingual addiction recovery support including outpatient treatment
Education programs - Classes for learning english, computer skills, preparing for the citizenship or driving exams
Family literacy - Opportunities for parents and their kids to increase their _____ together in a unique after school program
Employment - Help with job searching and resume writing
We also provide clients with referrals to community partners in order to connect them to even more resources and opportunities.
Along with providing services to clients, our team also teaches a culturally-specific, Spanish-language, 90-hour Community Health Worker training for providers seeking certification by Oregon Health Authority. We strive to increase the number of providers in Lane County who have received this certification so we can improve health literacy and wellness among immigrant and Latinx families in our community.
